Dont do it bruh. Youre just gonna end up buying it again at a later date at a later price 😵

The interior on E9x is kinda plastic-y but the stock seats are 20x better, more comfortable, and grippy than stock E46 M3 seats, which are one of the worst things (functionally) about the car.

I know... this car was half this amount when I bought... HALF!... and that was years before the automotive press used the words "Young Classics"... which was years before they started heralding the E46M as the best M3... it's found money at this point... and has been a joy to own and drive.

Bid for the chance to own a 30k-Mile 2002 BMW M3 6-Speed at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #53,429.

I almost did it a couple years back when I could have gotten into a CLK 63 AMG drop top and made money in the trade... having not done it then, it makes zero sense now.

maw1124 So that's your e46m3 on BaT i assume. Its a beauty and fetched a great price. Congrats

Are you thinking of buying something to replace it?

I've owned or have driven extensively the majority of the M3 lineup, minus the E92 M3, but I can tell you although I daily drive my F82 M4 CS, the E46 M3 just pulls me back every time. Weekend drives, the E46 M3 is the go to car, any kind of spirited driving really. I love the F8x chassis and I've owned A '16 M4 Competition before this CS but the E46 M3 never gets old for me. It was my high school crush car and finally owning it, I can see what I missed out on. I'll end up selling my M4 CS soon, and I think for now I'll be content with the E46 M3. I'll plan on daily driving it, and grabbing a GT3 P-Car when one surfaces that I really like for the weekends.

E46 M3 so far for me in terms of pure enjoyment, trumps the rest of the lineup thus far.

No that's not mine... I test drove a few in similar spec ('05s) when I was looking... carbon over red, carbon over cinnamon, 6MT and SMG, coupe and vert... they were all under $25k with those mileage at the time... mine is my avatar... it'll be years before I let it go hopefully... I basically grew up wanting a 3 series drop top... it should be the official car of Florida, that or the MB SL... one day these things will go for list price is my bet, and mileage won't matter all that much... care and maintenance will though.

AND... I haven't seen anything I'd replace it with... anything I'd get now would be way more money and not as much fun... I won't be tossing around a Bentley GTC Speed (for example) the way I do this.

                I’ve had the privilege of driving an E92 M3 and F8X M3/M4 for at least 40 hours each (and owned a E36 M3 and E46 M3).

What I didn’t like about the E92 was for an additional 800 cc (.8liters) of displacement, it was only a marginal increase of torque, although the horsepower levels were significantly better compared to the E46.

Once you go euro headers on a E46 M3, the torque difference to an E92 is even less.

This to me was by far the greatest let down of the S65.

S65 is a brilliant motor in its own right, and just like S54, with a few simple bolt-on can be made to produce unbelievable power.

Power or troque? Stroker ain't cheap

But I'm not being facetious. Please tell me, because I'm quite serious about getting an e92, and would want more torque if it's not too expensive. No need to mention a tune.

I'm not into modding and can't really tell you exactly - but just going the usual route of headers/exhaust + intake + underdrive pulleys should be a pretty good bump in both HP and TQ. If not, then supercharging is always an option My car is totally stock and I don't think I once thought I needed more power, tbh. Torque - maybe at the lower end a bit.

This is the one my friend has... the car is ridiculous... lights em up in every gear up to 100mph... he also did some other stuff with the [inevitable] rod bearing rebuild ... some forged internals... plenty of bottom end... no longer feels like a BMW... if you want more details PM me and I'll ask him.

People typically say this same thing about E36s. Assuming they had a nice one and not some clapped out pile of shit lmao.

Primary cat delete and a tune is most of the NA non stroker power you can get from it, for not much money. Muffler for sound tuning.
