You could possibly wait until a us distributor stocks these to save on shipping, though don't know what type of domestic shipping costs there will be plus customs/duty inclusive pricing on top already factored in.

It might not mean much savings and a longer wait on the other hand.

I don't care about waiting, I'm just trying not to miss out.

Why hasn’t matte cf always been a thing. SO much better than gloss.

CSL bootlid requires specific license plate lights and an adaptor loom (NLA but easy to make up) so the ones from the stock M3 bootlid doesn’t swap over - that’s what they mean in the description.

It is slightly heavier than the Slon and Wethje bootlid because it is made thicker - the Wethje bootlid is very flimsy and warps easily - it was designed as a racing part not for a road car. But heck of a lot lighter than OE CSL which isn’t actually that much lighter than the steel bootlid - it was made heavy on purpose for weight distribution.

Matte finish is usually more difficult to pull. You can buff a lot imperfections off the gloss, but matte should be spot on right away. Talking about perfect gloss vs perfect matte.

I wouldn't be surprised if the matte finish is just matte clear coat over the regular shiny finish. That being said, matte cf looks amazing.

matte cf on an exterior application is the same as matte paint. only looks good when it's pristine clean and it's an absolute pain to keep it that way

I believe karbonius told me my airbox has matte lacquer instead of gloss unless, again, lost in translation.

Pre preg carbon parts come out glossy out of molds due to release agents. Matte carbon is always clear coat with a matte 2k clear.

Shipping will always be a PITA on body panels. 500$ is actually really good compared to quotes I was pulling from a hood & trunk GB from Germany.

                      Release agents or pre-impregnated epoxy?

The spanish word for lacquer is used interchangeably with the spanish word for clear coat. So yup, probably matte clear coat.

You mean a single piece lip for the CSL bumper? Or a one piece lip for the standard M3 bumper?

I'm not sure what I think about the matte vs gloss carbon. My evolve airbox is gloss, so I'm kinda thinking I'd stick with gloss throughout. The matte looks really good in pictures, but the gloss is more period correct and I would think be easier to keep looking good. Kinda like the "frozen" paints.

I work on the pricing side of the biggest logistics/transportation/shipping company in the world, and have watched rates go nuts since I got here in March. I don't like paying $500 for shipping, but after sleeping on it I still think this is the best option. I'll buy one once they get stateside for distribution and hopefully save a little vs buying direct from Europe.

Buy a CSL airbox too and the shipping is still $500
