Alpine white was an original release and were most of the strippers I saw.

Man I wish I didn't toss my dealer brochures though I probably have one or two lying around somewhere.

I actually may have as well. I think I have my original owners CD too, which BTW, I never watched.

Because you can't! It's technically impossible.

I have this too, along with the audio CD they give you to blow your mind with the mind-numbingly awesome H/K system.

Well, I guess that's why I never watched it.

                  Lol

I'm fed up with myself, can't imagine how others must be feeling.

The simpler and more raw feeling the car has the better as far as I'm concerned, Slick top, because it saves weight, Bigger Brakes for better stopping, 14.5:1 steering ratio, Track mode button…
I’m not sure if you’re stating the Competition Package gives it a “slicktop”, that’s not part of it. But agreed, the brakes are better than the stockers.
The steering rack is considered by far majority an upgrade over stock. Heck BMW M certainly felt so using it only on the CSL/ZCPs.
Again with the M Track mode look how many have copied it years later after release of option package. But I’ll be the first to admit not a fan of solo “M Track” button on ungraded feel Alcantara M3 wheel. Think they could’ve included some others.

Rack, wheels, brakes, interior trim, color combo.... yes, the price reflects the difference and many believe its value. if it makes you feel any better, casio $20 watch will tell time just like a rolex

It is sort of funny that people view the ZCP trim as an upgrade over the alu trim. The alu trim is hand brushed in Italy. The ZCP trim is... not.
(which, yes, I know I have on the wagon-- there's no brushed alu for sedan/wagons)

I learn something new everyday on this forum. I have Italian trim in my BMW.

And now I know why that trim is so Fn expensive. Glad I replaced mine when parts were available. The top may be hand brushed but the pins are still cheap plastic (doh!!). The push clips work well though.

Did someone post the aluminum “Alu Tec” was an upgrade on Brushed Aluminum? If someone did that’s not a hill I’d die on.
Personal preference as far as liking more. It’s certainly more expensive and much harder to find. Although those certainly don’t make something an “upgrade”

With that stated the ALU TEC trim was only available on the M3 Competition Package. (Never for convertibles). Brushed Aluminum was an option that was available on any 316Ci, 318Ci, 318Cic, 320Ci, 320Cic, 323Ci, 323Cic, 325Ci, 325Cic, 328Ci, 330Ci, 330Cic, M3, M3Cic.
Alu Tec was included in the ZCP option. Brushed Aluminum was not standard equipment. So it’s not like deferring to ordering ZCP got someone Brushed Aluminum.
For the record I really like and have owned Brushed Aluminum trim. But Alu Tec looks great.

nothing classier than real brushed aluminum trim in a black interior imo
