Supersprint Sport Muffler Tips on Supersprint Street

After looking at how the tips are mounted on the Supersprint Street, I was wondering if it would be possible to cut the 4 welds holding the "plate" to the main muffler body on the Street muffler and replace it with the plate from a Sport muffler. If so, where would I be able to even buy the plate with the sport tips welded on? Does anyone happen to have any for sale?

Another possibility could be to cut the plate off and use clamp-on exhaust tips; what I'm wondering is if the pipe that merges with the tips is the same size as the stock muffler thus being compatible with these ---> https://www.ebay.com/itm/262063057321

I am a big fan of how the SuperSprint Street sounds but absolutely hate the tips that come with it.

Obioban I believe he somehow installed SS race tips on a sport or street exhaust.

When Leighton was around (lol) he was able to custom make some SS exhaust parts with what you're looking for being one of them in a full 2.5" setup to boot.

Anything is possible with some cash however, any competent welder can do this for you rather easily.

SS did it for me at the factory— at no extra cost.

I felt the sport muffler was so quiet. the street must be dead silent. But I think the oversized pipes def makes the car a lot quieter. I still wonder how the Sport would sound with an unresonated section 2 instead of resonated.

I have tried to custom order this exact thing from both ECS and Schmiedmann but so far have yet to get them to sell it to me. I was close with ECS but then it somehow fell through.

In the end I decided to just run the OE muffler … maybe the tone of the street is a little better, haven’t heard it in person, but it hasn’t been a priority vs all the other crap I want to do to the car.

I don't really want to order an entire new muffler just to have different tips. I have heard the SS will customize the parts on their catalog according to your request. I may try the eBay route but if there is a way to buy just the plate with the tips attached from SS that would be awesome.

The SS Street sounds basically stock, and thats what I love about it. I may be in my 20s, but I swear I have the ears of a 60 year old man.

A part of me wish I kept the Sport Muffler but Id be hoarding mufflers at that point. I still think the new SS pipes made the car super quiet.
