BMW Electrical Connector depin / depinning tools and terminal pinout diagrams

Hey all. I have a couple questions related to depinning electrical connectors / terminals in our cars. I'm starting to get pretty far into the guts of my build and want to thin out some of the wiring. Or in some cases, I'll need to depin a connector / terminal to reroute wiring, or snake it through conduit or rubber boots (reference heinzboehmer's magic in his build thread here) . I'm also doing a CSL intake and trying to avoid those vampire connectors.

    1. Does anyone have a suggestion on depinning tools? Is there a tool set that will cover most of the connector types on our cars? I don't know what I don't know, but I know there are lot of different connector types on our cars.

    Examples:
    2. Is there a good reference for what wires are in a pin location in a given connectors? i.e., DME related such as X60002 or X60003, engine bay waterproof connectors, interior connectors and so forth.

I have a Bentley Service Manual (paper and pdf) but it's hit or miss.
I found this site: http://www.fekzen.se/StandAlone/#MSS54 ...but not sure how trustworthy that is or isn't.

    2) Newtis if you have access or search for WDS - there used to be a couple of sites hosting it. Also try the WDS Android app (search on play store)

I do not have Newtis access. But holy crap! How have I not known about WDS?!

Thank you. Also downloaded the Android App. This is per gold.

Yep that web page is the same data as the app.

Also if you want pinouts for say X60002 you need to look at the module it connects to instead ie A6000 in that case.

There's also some apps for parts lookup with the same data as RealOEM and the like. Bimmerrefs is one.

Good to know. So for example:

I'll have to spend some time getting acquainted with the navigation of that site. Again, THANK YOU!!

No there are tables too. It would be quite cumbersome getting the pinout from the diagrams

            eg https://bmwteka.com/wds/en/e46/258703af

There are a few page types e.g. Diagram like your link, table/text like mine and images showing a picture of the location (when you look for the connectors mainly)

I don't think I'll be of much help for tool recommendations. I usually make things hard for myself and use a combination of small screwdrivers and things like the sim card removal bits that come with electronic screwdriver kits (like this one) or electronics tweezers to depin connectors.

I do know that most of the DME connectors are made by TE Connectivity, so maybe grabbing some of their depinning tools would be helpful: https://www.te.com/usa-en/products/a...ion-tools.html
