Hello everyone,
Occasionally I order some genuine BMW special tools as described in TIS.
I find them to be of far better quality than some aftermarket replicas available, and it makes for easy repairs.
At times, I have had issues finding the right part number to order the tools, since BMW decided to obfuscate this with their own internal 6 digit tool numbers.
Today I am sharing an up to date (including F and G series) Excel spreadsheet that contains nearly 2500 special tools and their respective order numbers.
Example usage:
Say you want to order the special tool that replaces the bolt on the oil filter, to check the oil pressure on the S54, as shown below.
You can use the attached spreadsheet, to look up the 6 digit special tool number mentioned in TIS.
Keep in mind that TIS displays these numbers in the format XX X XX, while the spreadsheet uses the format XXX XXX.
CTRL+F in the spreadsheet and you will see that special tool 11 4 390 can be ordered with part number 83 30 0 493 742.
This has helped me order many special tools, so I decided to share it in the hopes that it can help other people as well 😁
I have uploaded the spreadsheet as .xls.txt, so just remove the .txt part, and you can open it in Excel.

Maybe someone knows how to properly convert it to PDF, or host it online on something like Google Docs, that would be cool.
