245 is too wide for an 8-inch wheel, for looks, or performance.

Well there’s nothing wrong with using the 30mm stagger as a base. It however is not necessary and not followed by several tuners. TC Kline and Dinan are examples of just a few who don’t use that on the E46.
As for post questioning the M3 ZCP article suggesting 235/275 and not being “size” 30mm tread width difference. TireRack/America’s Tires has a spec sheet for the M3 ZCP. When you enter Michelin tires suggested on that exact model wheels it lists (after the original spec’d fitment) 2nd one listed in fitments is thee 235/35/19 Front and 275/30/19 Rear.
I’m not posting this to push that one set-up. Only that it is commonly used and suggested by professionals and can not to be discredited.

235/275 should be discarded. What a joke. We need Biden's minister of misinformation to task a special unit to nam3forum.DD: /// 2011.5 Jerez/bamboo E90 M3 · DCT · Slicktop · Instagram

That list from Discount Tire seems like a joke. Virtually any combination is listed. On TR, only one optional size is given for 19" comp wheels - 245/35 and 275/30. I don't want that much of a plus.
I'm looking to go 235/35 265/30 on my next set of tires. That keeps the circumference difference under 1 inch. Rear tire size limits the choices.Interlagos 06 M3, Autologic tune, Agency Power midpipes/exhaust, Fortune Auto coilovers, UUC SSK, Bluebus, Lightwerkz retrofit. MRegistry listing here

In January, I purchased a set of the ZCP wheels from a BMW dealer thru my friends collision shop using their discount…total price was $1969. Not a huge savings but did save by not having to pay taxes or shipping charges. I was surprised to see that all of the wheels had manufacturing date stamps from 2013…so possibly they are selling what’s left in inventory.

This way you get 10% off on one order and 10% off on the other.
I spent a few hours looking for the best price - this trick ended up being it.
