I'm interested in the reputation of FAG brand parts. I usually stay OE but in this case (wheel bearings) the FAG brand is available a week faster than OE.
Just the other day my porsche mechanic friend snapchatted me a picture of a fag bearing going into a 911 from the factory - I’m just here to parrot everyone else in saying they’re a reputable company
Negative to the post's above. FAG is now mostly produced in cHiNa. They've gone down hill. Bearings on newer car are lasting sub 40k miles.
All the iphones are made in china and quality is not the issue.
FAG is a giant in bearing. As long as the process, material, and QC are controlled by FAG then the products should be the same if they were made in Germany or French or USA.
Any time a china apologist enters the argument it's always the same old tired iphone example because they can't think of anything else that is not utter garbage. People in china are buying European or American made goods themselves.
To put it another way, nobody produces in china for quality. If cost wasn't an issue, nobody would ever produce a single thing there.

I agree that it's hard to find good quality product made in China, but why? The consumers want to pay less for ordinary products. I think as long as FAG, Apple, or any company that willing pursuit quality then it can be done even with Chinese labor. The same happened here in the 70s to 90s, that GM and Ford made garbage cars in the US because they wanted profit and not quality.
I blame the companies for the bad products and not the workers.
I bought and installed 3 Mitsubishi duct-less Air conditioner systems at top price compared to the competitors, and found out they were made in Mexico with good quality. Again, it all depends on the production management and product design.

It's hard to find because it doesn't exist. It's not because consumers don't want to pay, it's because of shady business practices, ill quality control, greed, ethics, and the intrinsic culture that consumers are no longer willing to pay. China will never be what Japan became, another fallacious comparison over the past couple of decades being drawn.
Nobody ever said they don't have the capacity or the technology or that the workers are at fault. The good people are the ones suffering which is why they escape and come to this country. It's just highly unlikely you will end up with something of quality. Even the cardboard they use is utter shit.
