    5E19 Present - ABS-DSC: CAN data fault from DME/DDE

Hello All, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Vehicle is a 2002 325i. Not an M, but others on here have said I should be okay coming in here.

    175k miles.

This car is currently in limp mode, w/ the amber trio of EML/DSC/Brake lights on the cluster lit up in amber.

I scanned w/ OBD Fusion and came up w/ P1632 - Throttle Adaptation?

I can clear the code w/ OBD Fusion, but then when I simply cycle the key to ON (not start), the amber trio is back.

I broke out the Schwaben tool, w/ BMW module on it and came up with the 5E19 Present - ABS-DSC: CAN data fault from DME/DDE. I cannot erase this with the Scwaben tool.

I do have INPA, but I am not very familiar with it. I will plug that in and scan next.

Any helpful hints to start with?

    Thanks all!

I should add that searching for 5E19 Present - ABS-DSC: CAN data fault from DME/DDE comes up with results, not all of them for e46. As far as I can see, there are no threads with resolution posted.

I just found something else that I missed.

When I ran the Auto Scan on the Schwaben, it came up with a Engine DDE, Diesel Electronics DDE3.0 Fault.

Not sure why it would come up with diesel electronics faults? The car is a gasser. But, these codes would jive with throttle adaptation code P1632:

I appreciate this is not a popular topic, but I want to provide updates in case a future searcher finds this and wonders what happened...

INPA showed Code 115 - Throttle Pedal Adaptation. Clearing Errors in INPA does not work, it just comes back

I ordered a new TB from FCP Euro and installed it over the weekend.

Next, I went in with INPA and cleared the errors, reset the adaptations, and the amber trio, and Code 115 went away.

I need to put some miles on her and see if the issue stays resolved.

If anyone wants more details, I can elaborate!

            Hope that helps...

Makes sense. With a bad ethrottle, dsc will not work correctly. Glad you got it resolved.
