Maybe you could pack it into a bag and run an ozone generator in there for a while. Should help get rid of the smell.

It might actually be OE, for all I know-- but it was not sold to me as such. All the stitches are in the correct place, and there's no bulging, etc.

I actually had my dash out when I bought it, for my wiring harness project, so it would have been no additional work install it.

... I do have the OE Imola center console and arm rest. ECS was sitting on one in stock for like 4 years. I emailed them a lowball offer, and they took it :P
Nicely done with ECS. Now low ball them on that rear ashtray piece you're missing, they will never sell it at that price... lol

You're probably right in that your dash is not OE extended leather because I see that the strip under the windshield is also covered which is not the case with OE.

I see you also have a two-tone steering wheel - mine came with one too but it was badly worn beyond repair so I decided to get a genuine black replacement instead (same goes for arm rest, shifter/be-brake & boots. I actually don't mind those being black as the OE config looked too beige IMO - here's how it came from factory:

In the picture I was running a wheel made by M3F member deadlysyns...

... but these days I'm just running an alcantara wheel, as it was a bit too much for me, with the red console.

I tried to low ball them on the rear trim. They didn't go for it. I guess I could try again, it's been a couple years...

You could buy this, keep the piece you need and resell the right hand drive base to someone from UK....

I don't think that is OE.

What gives it away? If you're thrown off by to the 'extra' piece in the rear, that's an OE alarm sensor housing for convertibles - see part 22 in this link: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_3241

Gorgeous. As an owner of a grey interior car, it annoys me that BMW gave a black carpet and black upper dash (at windshield) to every other non-black M interior BESIDES grey. The anxiety of getting the carpet dirty, and the stupid glare off the grey strip under the windshield is the #1 thing I hate about my car.

                            Thank you!

Nice find on Kijiji, it's another rare gem but LOL @ getting another, especially when it's so similar to mine... even my own M3 has turned into a garage queen due to changing priorities in life. After owning and restoring three E46 cars, I've had my 'fun' and will continue to enjoy the two I currently own but the next car I purchase is more likely to be an 'appliance' rather than a collectible.

Don't mean to put salt in the wound but I agree that it's weird they chose not to leave that upper part black. If it makes you feel better, non-M beige interiors are the same as yours... not just grey. In my case, upper dashboard is black because I don't have a beige interior (dash, door panels, pillars, carpets, etc.) - mine is black with Ecru leather (seats, door panel inserts and extended pieces) just like a red or cinnamon option would be with all other parts still black.

You should swap the dash and carpet for black even if you don’t swap the grey interior. Not really hard nor expensive to do. And would look way better!

I was happy my LSB came with black interior.
