GreyM340i what's your experience with the AX6000 so far? I had the AX5500 and upgraded to the 6000 recently, and have had issues with both- every once in a while the 5500 wouldn't connect using wired Apple CarPlay, and the 6000 has similar issues wirelessly, and today it wouldn't boot up when I started the car although it had power (could see the illumination on the buttons). Had to factory reset to resolve connectivity issues, and forced reset today by holding HOME button until it came back up. I know there's a firmware update that hopefully fixes these issues because so far my experience with Sony head units has been trash
I went a different route with my setup- audison prima speakers and 8.9 BIT DSP amp. Sounds great, needs more power though-will eventually upgrade to the Forza amps (should've done it in the first place smh)

I haven't had the Sony 6000 running long enough to have those issues yet however I read some on Crutchfield and was worried about that. Funny you mentioned the Audison brand I just ordered a new Audison Prima 10” powered sub for my trunk. Will be here on Tuesday or Wednesday. So far the Match amp and the BSW speakers have been good. I’m sure your upgraded speakers sound better.Originally posted by genesis View PostGreyM340i what's your experience with the AX6000 so far? I also have the Prima 10” in a built box fed by a Rockford 300W mono amp (was originally going with the active 10” Prima powered sub/amp, but was out of stock as well as Audison and Hertz mono subs)Originally posted by GreyM340i View Post

Yeah, I'm on record as saying the Hertz / Audison / BavSound is the best sound system you can do in these, within reason. I put Dynavin as the head unit, but YMMV.

EDIT... GreyM340i snap a pic of your dash from the driver's seat when you get a chance, please. If the car is already tucked away offsite don't worry about it.Last edited by maw1124; 12-16-2022, 08:00 PM.

Is this system in a E46 M3? If so what speakers you using in the doors?Originally posted by genesis View PostGreyM340i what's your experience with the AX6000 so far? I bet that sounds amazing. I think I’m going to upgrade the front to the Morel Virtus Nano Carbon 63. It’s a 3 way 6.5” slim speaker line. Reviews look great however a little more expensive than I wanted to spend. Hoping to find a discount somehow.Originally posted by genesis View PostYes, E46 cab. Prima AP1 and AP6.5 up front, might be same in rear (not 100% sure). Mounted w/ .125" acrylic mounts, 8 channels active + sub out to the aforementioned 10" sub and RF mono amp

85W RMS is a lot for the cabin. Did you upgrade your handle speakers in the front doors? I'm running 65W and it feels like a lot. I've said before I'm surprised I haven't blown the BavSound speakers yet but they handle it just fine.Originally posted by genesis View PostYes, E46 cab. I updated to the new firmware just released on the 10th so will update if that doesn’t work perfectly. So far today it’s been working great. It’s a clean head unit and I’m happy with it so far. Better than the android unit I was running.Originally posted by Pklauser View PostDisappointed to hear the Sony 6000 not working out for some folks. I was really holding out for that to be my end-all-be-all head unit for this car. Curious if the firmware updates help y'all out.

White button illumination doesn't bother you too much against the OE amber?Originally posted by GreyM340i View Post
