I would ask the upholsterer if you can see a current project from start to finish. A good upholsterer is always busy so this shouldn't be a difficult request, as a matter of fact you should be able to drop in and see something in the works. If he balks or acts like this request is too difficult then find someone else.

When I got to the shop yesterday even though he’s closed on the weekend he was working on an Audi S4 interior. From what I could tell it looked great. He only had one seat done and was currently working on the rear seat section. Also saw his two tone custom Audi suv interior in his wife’s car. Not my color choice however the work looked OEM. Had about 5 or 6 cars in the back not sure what the deal with those were. Seems like a legit professional upholster. Not sure what to do. Waiting on the other forum member that lives in WI to PM me back. Maybe I can work out a deal for his good condition seats.

They do good work. However, you are an outlier case. Can't really promote them because they only did your seats because you shipped the entire car to get worked on over in Hungary lol
Not a lot of people can do that and even if they wanted to do just individual seats, it's expensive to send seats over or they need to do the leg work of pulling the seat covers off themselves and shipping them overseas. It's just not a good option.

I went with bmwrestoredseats in CT and im very happy with them. Only you can decide if its worth your money.

He did exactly what i wanted, worked with me on timing, sent me swatches to help make my choice and then did the install over a weekend while i partied in bridgeport.

about as easy as it gets, and when it was done i had the seats i wanted for my car

im aware that the m fabric centers arent period correct. I hate alcantara, i cant think of a car fabric thats worse to use. I wish the m-tex wasnt alcantara, but its among the things i think bmw got wrong for this car. Oh well

i also swapped to manual bases because i like them better. Since my car is OG, i wanted green leather with cloth centers and now i have them. I thought of having him redo recaros sportsters the same way, but didnt feel like dealing with the headache of the install with sensors etc.

overall, very pleased and if i hadnt deleted the rear seats, id have him do them too. Im on the fence about the door panels, everything else being black actually flows really well. But if i change my mind, i know where ill go for the work

How do I downvote a comment?

I really like Alcantara, but hey to each their own. Your seats look great though. Personally, I've always thought bmwrestoredseats has done some great work.

Indeed, got me all excited until you pointed out the location. Best seat re-upholstery job I've seen; actually looks factory.
