Probably. Could be the caliper bodies were cast in China. I guess you could find the company that casted the calipers or create a mold from an existing caliper to cast a new one but that wouldn’t be cheap.

Crossover tube is just bending some brake line and flaring the ends. Bleeders, pistons, seals, boots...all standard. Hardware is hardware. Might need to get Fastenal to make something.
Yeah well mine lasted for over a decade and are still good minus the faded color. So I am wanting to do the refurb as it just looks ratty behind those nice LMs. Might go with a light Gold as someone suggested in my Stoptech thread.

You are right about the parts minus the caliper body and bridge. You need to start making and selling some ST parts LOL

It's even worse than that. The gameplan is usually
        1. buy out
        2. create a seperate "holding" company - ie StopTech Holdings
        3. transfer all of the most valuable company assets such as real estate, machinery, other durable goods into said holding company
        4. Trim back massively in og company, cripple operations
        5. keep holding company as collateral in event og company fails (failure rate is OBSCENELY high
        6. liquidate holdings in event of failure
It's borderline theft. I would be extremely worried for StopTech's viability long term.

According to this little blurb on Bimmerworld, the ST40 should be forged: "StopTech calipers feature forged aluminum construction, center bridge reinforcement for added strength, vehicle-specific piston sizes matched to the master cylinder for optimum brake balance, and high-temp silicone brake boots."

I wouldn't be too worried about getting serviceable parts such as rotors, seals and brake lines. Damaging the caliper or rotor hat would be a problem.

            Good point on the forged.

I don't think the rotor hats will be too problematic, especially the fronts, it's a relatively simple slab of aluminum.

From my good friend Mr. David Z:

The piston sizes for the StopTech ST-60 front and ST-40 calipers depend on your specific E46 M3 model (regular or ZCP), front rotor size (355mm or 380mm), and rear caliper generation.

Here's a table with piston sizes for both front rotor options:

              Note:
Rear Caliper Update (Regular E46 M3): Older Gen4 ST-40 calipers (p/n 372.430.0173/4) use 28/28mm pistons, while newer Gen5 calipers (p/n ACS.431.1173) use 26/30mm pistons. Check your caliper generation for the rear.

              Thank you David Z.

yes they did, I hear there are a few kits in existence specific to the m3 however there is only data out there from a C7 corvette option. I hope to see one out there one day we’ll see.
