    IB Journal

Back into an IB e46 after 10ish years away

Found a pretty clean 06 SMG car grey interior 66k miles.

first up is to do an interior swap to
black or mtexture. Assembling parts to get working on it.

then plan to do the classic mods (csl trunk / csl intake) and enjoy it

thankful this is an active forum - am certain I’ll need a little help along the way!

      Congrats, looks really nice!

I have two black seats and door cards if you’re interested.

If the trim is in good condition, you should be able to swap over the grab handle/trim to the black door cards. Removing the leather pads is a PITA but doable without breaking anything.

ya I guess I am going to try it - hopefully the parts survive brought them all into the house so they are warm

Good luck! Need to be patient when prying off the pads. The six small pins on the pads are a pain to separate from the retainers on the trim piece, but they will slowly come out. Be careful with the rear tab on the pad as well.

Still needs some bits and pieces - new trims ordered should have that done

Using Alex from the forum to refinish some bits of trim

Swapped the competition trim tops onto black trim bottoms for arm rests etc

Annoyingly I seem to have a bad passenger rear RTAB as I can wiggle the wheel and get toe change - RTAB moves

Do you know why the leather on the rear seat is so bunched up?

Leather looks bunched up a bit on the centre sections of the rear seat compared to below
Probably just age/wear. Bit of heat and leather treatment might help with it.

I wonder if it's bunched because it got damp or wet at some point.
