It’s also funny how majority labeled E9X ugly boats when they first came out…and these same people are now praising them
Everything is relative. BMW today makes a car that is much heavier and uglier.

Yea but the tq at least makes these ugly modern M’s more enjoyable to drive in the street. The E9X is big, heavy, and no tq/power

If the engine noise wasn’t so awesome, I’m not sure how I’d feel about the E9X

eh, I find the e9X much more enjoyable to drive than anything BMW makes today. Steering feel still exists, the manual still exists and isn't trash (unlike modern BMW manuals), powerband is more to my taste (progressive, peaky), and feels much smaller on the road than anything larger than a 2 series.

F87 M2c was a blast to drive. Manual transmission in both old and new BMW’s feel rubbery and numb.

I like peaky/progressive power bands as well. But I’d rather get that in a smaller and lighter e46 than e9X.

Jackie Ding (He won street class at Gridlife and Super Lap battle in an A90 Supra) just retired his A90 and bought one of those. An automatic M2. Looks and *cough* weight aside, I'm looking forward to seeing what the M2 can do turned into a race car.

It's the clutch pedal I dislike in modern BMW manuals. It isn't, but by feel I'd guess it was clutch by wire, it's so numb.

Just avoid doing drag race against stock Dodge Caravan with it and yes it’s the best one

I disagree, The e9x m3 is not boring at all. Yes it's not the fastest thing in a straight line, but it's a fun toy through the twisties and will leave a significant number of other sports cars for dead.

I hear what you're saying that in stock form you really do have to ring their neck to get the most from them, and you can't exactly do that (safely & legally) on the street.

I drove my brother's e92 m3 for a good period and had a little track time; at or above 9 tenths it was absolutely alive and loved to slide (easy to control with your right foot ). The s65 may be very compared to a lot of other v8's, but the noise it makes, the redline and responsiveness is just unparalleled.

His was modified however; custom exhaust, tune, intake etc.. Made 420whp

I'd love to swap an s65 into my e46 m3...

I just sold my M2C and after multiple e46 M3s over the years I found that car to be boring to daily drive unless you wringing it's neck and hanging the back end out on corners.

Engine note sucks, exhaust is full of pops, steering is awful and the clutch pedal was terrible.

So, after 6 months I sold it and got back in a e46. The e46 feels special to me every time I drive it. Even if it is a trip to the grocery store.

Have minimal seat time in an E9x, but I can’t imagine it being worse than that.

E90 M3 is peak bmw? That cars styling alone is, at BEST, bearable LOL

Never in a million. S54 is so damn good I don't think I'd even swap it with an S85.
