I thought I would add to this as I had the same issue with the CRP rings.

Ordered some genuine ones instead and compared.

I recently ordered the OE o-rings from FCP and they are red. Anyone else received red ones too?

Thank George Hill & Tbonem3 for the help.
I used these same ones on the other side just a few days ago. I also thought they were tight, placed them on the pipe and then tightened the bolt. Tried it by hand, but it was difficult to get enough leverage to push in with the airbox in the way.

I'm pulling my S54 for a rebuild and total refresh (trans incl.), and I'm creating new parts list on the fly in preparation for the build, reassembly, and installation.
This thread has been helpful for the oil cooler piece of the project.
So... Genuine O-rings at FCP are three bucks each and the CRP ones are only Fittee Cent.
I know that a couple bucks difference sounds trivial...and I almost ALWAYS go straight to FCP... but my parts list is now 160 items long... So... a few bucks here and there started adding up really fast. I figured I'd shop some of the parts (Turner, Bimmerworld, GetBWMParts, Autohausz, Rogue, MLR, etc.)

In the end... did the "cheapo" O-rings work?
