Stock euro tune I would assume. I wonder if the values in this tool are U.S. or if there's even a difference between u.s. and euro.

Fuel is high octane enough, 98ron is 93 here I think.

I had this very thing happen after my CSL conversion by Kassel, I called and they told me that unless otherwise noted all of their "standard" tunes they throw on after the CSL software is flashed accounts for US Spec. cams.

I did not have this error before the conversion. The code came up twice. I reset adaptations and it has yet to come back after 3 separate 1+ hours drives.

I am still working on a way to run a Vanos test as I cannot get one done locally.

      Adaptations before they were reset:

Any reason you don't want to read off the tune from your car and adjust the offsets yourself?

I don't know how to do that. I've got a partial read via BMWflash so I could use Martyn's tool to change a few things if I wanted to in the future and that's about all I've done/know how to do at this point. I've got all the misc INPA programs that came off bimmergeeks standard tools dload.

Hey Paul. Good to see you’re on the new forum.
I’ll chime in to recommend Paul for anyone having issues with their CSL tunes, cams, offsets, whatever. I couldn’t get the CSL tune I bought running right with my 288/280’s relating to the offset issues being discussed here; the tuner said it was incorrect timing, and basically said there was nothing more that he could do. I got in contact with Paul after reading some of his posts about this issue on the old forum. He pretty much had me running properly right away with adjustments he made to my tune. Turns out I didn’t need to re-time it 10 times over. I ended up cutting my losses with my original tune and went with a tune from Paul.

I may have to do the same with my US cams, but further testing needs to be done before I point my finger 100% at the tuning.

After resetting adaptations my inlet vanos error (94) came back once again.
One thing that confuses me is the fact that I have an inlet vanos adaptation value of 0 yet the error is occurring. From what I understood a value of 0 meant that the Vanos isn't compensating at all for things such as faulty timing etc.
I thought the margin was 8°? Does the number displayed on this psuedo-screen shot of mine indicate that the inlet vanos is adapting 0°?
I don't fully understand what is going on here, a vanos test would be great. But until I figure a way to load DIS it's running this way.
Also, I am risking damage running the car this way?

Correct the offset and you'll be fine. The value of 0 does indeed mean it's not adapting.

Could you briefly explain how the error code with the vanos inlet presents itself when the vanos inlet isn't adapting at all?
One member PM'd and suggested that if it is a timing issue with my error and my current adaptation values he thinks my intake camshaft may not be moving at all via vanos, therefore the 0.00 value.
I sent a partial to someone that is going to check the offsets, I am very grateful for that.

You have error code 94, which is a fault relating to inlet vanos adaptation. Because the cam isnt adapting your value is 0.

Grab the CSL / 401 XDF, load it into tuner pro along with your tune and search for K_EVAN1_OFFSET and K_AVAN1_OFFSET in the parameter finder window.

Set them to match the below:

Thanks, I'm not quite sure how to grab the CSL/ 401 XDF and load it into tuner pro. I'll get tuner pro later today and start reading up on how to do what you have described.
                        Thank you Martyn!

So I just copy/paste that into notepad and then it's used in tuner pro? I am getting off topic here, sorry.
You will likely see a new thread regarding this in the coding section if I can't figure it out.

                              Yup!

TunerPro > File > Open Bin > Select your tune.
TunerPro > XDF > Select XDF > Select the CSL XDF you downloaded.
TunerPro > Ctrl + F and search for K_EVAN1_OFFSET, double click the result to open the parameter, then repeat for K_AVAN1_OFFSET. Edit each value as per my screenshot, press save on each and then save out your bin with 'Save Bin as...'.

I see. So that means that it is important to get your timing as precise as possible, regardless of the DME's ability to set adaptations. Interesting.
