Help on engine mount change?

I didn't have to loosen the fan or have a support bar at the time, but I did what Maxima said and it worked.

At what mileage do you change the OE mounts or do you guys just look if the oil pan is too close to the sway bar?

Most BMW oil pan gaskets start seeping around 50k miles which is when the engine mounts are starting to collapse. Depending on how much power you have, they will usually separate around 70k to 80k.

Shameless plug here...I have a pair of new OEM engine mounts for an E9X M3 for sale - $100. These are solid rubber, I've seen them advertised as a slight upgrade. I cannot confirm if these are stiffer than the E46 M3 mounts.

This is a lot easier to do during rod bearing service for anyone that will be doing them in the near future.

Agree with Maxima, just finished this. FCP video discusses this. And all I did was loosen the fan shroud, left the fan connected. thanks for all the help.

I did break this, power steering hose bracket. Can anyone help me with a part number for the rubber piece that broke?

I undid that nut in the rack to P/S hoses, and when i lowered the sub-frame, those rubbers on the P/S lines broke as well?
Any tips on how not to break them again? without D/C the Lines ??
