    Most BMW oil pan gaskets start seeping around 50k miles which is when the engine mounts are starting to collapse. Depending on how much power you have, they will usually separate around 70k to 80k.

      Shameless plug here...I have a pair of new OEM engine mounts for an E9X M3 for sale - $100. These are solid rubber, I've seen them advertised as a slight upgrade. I cannot confirm if these are stiffer than the E46 M3 mounts.

        This is a lot easier to do during rod bearing service for anyone that will be doing them in the near future.
