    Error Code 232: Function Test, Tank Ventilation System

    Tried searching on this forum but couldn't find much. Anyone receive this warning? Seems like it could be related to the fuel tank vent valve (BMW-13907831770). However, error code 36 seems it would be the valve specifically.
    036 0x24 Tank ventilation valve Tank venting valve Evaporative emission purge control valve

    Seems like error code 232 could be the vent valve, gas cap, or bad gas?...
    232 0xE8 Function check TEV Function test, tank ventilation system Evaporatve emssions purge valve functional check

    Was just curious to see if you guys experienced it. I have the valve on order, should be here tomorrow. Also read you could read the resistance on it, and it should be around 30ohm? Higher resistance reading (>100ohm) on the faulty valves. Some also say you can just decarb it as much as possible, and put some gun oil in the valve.

    Try to use INPA to run the test for Evap and then tank leak diagnosis and see which one fails.

      I opened INPA earlier connected to the car and couldn't figure out how to navigate to perform EVAP test. would you happen to have a reference or link available? I tried looking and most of the stuff I found were for other chassis so the menus looked a bit different. Thank you

        INPA, select e46 > MS54 (engine)>Activate>Evap (then also click to activate tank leak test)

            My menu under activate only has three options

            I tried F1 and it just shows injection valve cylinders (1-6).

            F3 takes me to test the DMTL, but I'm not sure if those readings are optimum.

            It looks like I'll ultimately have to do a smoke test to find this evap leak which I've never done before
