Seems aggressive, let us know how it goes.
Woow those were 350 lol....ok read it in description that they were $1100 as he said while talking to me. $350 was initial deposit.
Yeah, I am planning to find a yellow tag or OEM rack locally. They seem to go around 200-300ish dollars.

1100 AUD is around 700 bucks US, depending on exchange rates at the time

So slightly expensive, but not that bad honestly

The price is AUD $1250 + AUD $120 shipping = USD $920. Yes, the rack from him would be all rebuilt and ready to go for next 100k miles. You never know what you get from ebay, most of them have 90k plus miles and around $350.

$920 seems reasonable. I'm in $300 for a yellow tag I bought, and after new tie rods, pipe set, boots, and shipping to a rebuilder I'm going to try, I'm in for slightly more than that.

            IDK where you're getting $1250 AUD from, I get $1100 + shipping?

Total amount payable for the BLACK LABEL will be AUD $1100 plus shipping costs.

Firstly we will require a deposit of AUD $350 to sign in + we would need you to cover the shipping cost upfront - then, the rest of AUD $750 would need to be settled, when the product is ready for collection / dispatch.

That is what Lucas told me in my email conversation.

$1100 is for RHD, $1250 for LHD

There is a great video on youtube of how to rebuild an e46 steering rack here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9drVXzCOuM

It doesn't look hard, just finicky.

I did see that video, I do most of my stuff DIY but stuff like that I am not that confident. If it would leak or not after putting in so much work. So, just bought the new one and make sure I am done with that part. Also, the old one was 79k miles old and this should bring some nice feel to the steering :P.

I rebuild racks on the forum for members, so if you have any questions on performing this on your own as a DIY I’m happy to help provide some guidance.

Got busy with other life priorities and was not able to install it, would be doing it in few days. Is there any good DIY for this? I see 50's kid one but he does not talk about how to keep it centered. I guess we have to keep the steering locked while working on it and measure the tie rods to the rotors?

What should be replaced with it?
                            Steering coupler?
                            Tie Rods?
Steering reservoir and hoses, those are crazy expensive. Need to replace if everything was good? I used CHF and would be using ATF now.

                            Thanks for your help.

Steering coupler?I guess will replace the guibo not the whole coupler
Tie Rods? Will replace as it is time.

I guess I will clean flush them with ATF and reuse them for now?

Center the steering wheel then lock it with the key out of the ignition. Then just make sure the stick out of the rack gear from the steering housing body is the same on both sides when you attach it to the steering column. You will then attach the tie rods after the rack is attached to the subframe.

If you are changing from CHF to ATF, I would get a new reservoir. It has an integrated filter and it makes sense to replace it.
