That's the butyl for the hard top convertible roof shells, it is flat vs being round like the one I noted.

Awesome, thanks! I called local BMW and the part guy said he could hook me up with some as they don't sell it. I will go tomorrow and see what he got, else order the part you mentioned. I can only find the part you mentioned on ebay and that is not USA, maybe order from dealership but that woud take days and I can not leave my doors open in the garage .

My local BMW dealer, attached to a VW dealer, had given me some of this for free and it worked; so I ordered a roll.

EDIT: Checked my box and according to the label, this is 5mm diameter and 5m long roll.

haha same thing happened to me and I am going to get the stuff from local dealership tomorrow.

The old pn# is 83190000537, that was superseded to 83195A1B479 in the beginning of '21. I wish we could get the old spools, that was much better in the way it was packaged.
