I remember being super surprised at how bad the quality of the wheel was when I first saw it. Looked up pictures of (what I thought were) real ZCP steering wheels and they matched what was on the car. But looking at pictures again, they don't match at all.

Hmm, this is making me reconsider a ZCP wheel for my car. Don't love the alcantara look, but really do like how it feels in the hands.
It looks like a Coby rewrapped wheel based on the center lower seam and the stitching. They rewrap them over the original leather.

Need to see the back (stitch) of the one you posted to confirm. However, just by looking at what you posted, don't think its genuine. A good re-wrap perhaps.

Original Genuine BMW ZCP wheel DOES have 4 seams. Coby only does one at 6 o'clock. Coby stitch is horrible, and the alcantara they use is a different color. Here are photos of original ZCP wheel (on the car) and brand new Coby re-wrap next to it:

Yo can't clearly see (I don't have better picture, unfortunately) but genuine wheel does have 4 seams (next to Coby rewrap):

Is there somewhere/someone that does rewraps that are better than coby?

Good eye, the genuine steering wheel I posted above DOES have 4 seams... it was purchased new from BMW circa 2017 iirc.

Thanks everyone. I think the one I posted has only the 2 seems. Seems like a rewrap. Appreciate it.

Umm, I honestly don't know. There are folks in Europe that do wonderful job, but I don't have any names/references.

+1 to this. Just received my steering wheel from them today and it's fantastic. Some pics here: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...019#post269019

For anyone who is interested, this is my OEM wheel PN 32347919217. IIRC it was around $700 shipped from a Seattle dealership on black Friday. Looks really good irl and feels thin like OE. Stitch is all black.
