New but not new APEX ARC-8RT Wheels are being released

Just saw this and am sure other members also did as well, but APEX is releasing the ARC-8RT Wheels soon. My guess it's another version of the ARC-8R's that were released a few years ago. The weight of the wheels is kind of disappointing. These weight as much as the cast version. Grant it, with these being forged, these will be stronger then the cast wheel. I was excepting these to be 17-18lbs for a 18x9.5 and 18-19lbs 18x10. Hopefully the BBK clearance will make up for it.

Touring line trades off some weight for more strength compared to their standard forged wheels

the Arc-8R was the best looking wheel for the E46 M3 especially in brushed clear imo, i too am bummed it only comes in this Touring iteration

This is interesting... I might pull the trigger on the brushed clear. Thanks for posting the link!

Edit: weight comparison. First screenshot is the flow-formed ARC8, second screenshot is the touring line ARC8. Doesn't seem too bad? I'm not tracking so I guess it won't matter to me regardless.

Wonder if we’ll have any information on brake clearance before the preorder window ends? These look like a decent choice for my next track wheels. A pound or two of extra weight is fine with me if they’re actually stronger. My TA16s got vibrations from one small trip into the grass 🙄

I was going to do it right and get TE37s but meh, extra $2k and always backordered.

            Just an update:

I contacted Apex to inquire about brake clearance on the new ARC8 RT wheels. The setup that I asked about was 18x9.5 et35 working with a 380mm 4 piston Brembo GT kit as well as the 355mm 4 piston Brembo GT kit and they told me that this wheel will clear both BBK kits. It was a quick call, so I didn't have a chance to ask about a 18x8.5 front wheel. A standard 18x10 rear wheel in the back won't have any issues clearing any BBK kits.

            Seems promising so far.

“A timeless classic, reborn as a fully forged wheel.”

Who the fuck writes this stuff? BBS RCs are forged. Lest we forget.

I read it as they were referring to their own product (the standard ARC-8) as being the timeless classic being reborn.

Which is typical self aggrandizing and in no way makes it better.

i dont see these as a copy of BBS RCs AT ALL

ARC8s are gorgeous especially as you add concave, BBS RCs are pretty goofy looking in comparison

If you don't look at these and immediately see on your own how ARC8s are a replica of this design, there's nothing I can say that will help.

you mean look at this obscure size/fitment with a simulated centerlock that probably doesn't even fit an E46 M3?

i came from the honda tuner era so i'm well versed on what straight up fake wheels are (SW388 vs Slipstreams) but what Apex doing here is simply not the same. there's nuance to it, and calling Apex a replica company is either lazy or disingenuous imo

ARC8s are clearly a rep of the RCs lol. It's even in the name: "Another RC" (8 spokes)
