Adjustable Rear Camber Arms — Which ones do we like these days?

Hey guys:

Tackling my rear wheel bearings soon and the shop suggested I add ARCAs at the same time. I’ve done some reading and it seems the BW arms are the closest CSL dupe, which is neat. Otherwise, the GC and Turner arms get high marks here. But which one is right for me …

My car is street only and I would like to retain comfort while picking up a performance bump, if possible.

Any/all suggestions are welcome and would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The differential is supposed to come out to replace the LCA so IMO there is some overlap with bearings, but not a ton. Are you also doing diff bushings?

This is how I see it, you need to decide what you want for a joint on the inboard side:

• Bushing - you have tons of options
• Heim - we've been running SPL with good success
• Sealed ball joint - Ground Control

If adjustment is not something that is needed, actual CSL arms would be a pretty nice option. They do even offer a little more adjustment because the CSL uses E39 camber eccentric
hardware.

Otherwise Ground Control and Bimmerworld offer ones with a sealed bearing. I would skip out on ones with the OE style bushing because they have to be torqued at ride height, which creates too much margin for installer error, which might negatively impact service life.

Many of the adjustable aluminum ones from the big brands are recommended. I actually opted for the Eibach/SPC steel arms for my stock height street car that work just fine. The shop said my stock arms didn’t have enough adjustability as the eccentric bolt design doesn’t allow for much.

You can get it out with the diff in which is why I said its supposed to, but a shop is going to bill as per the book which means taking the diff out.

I should have noted that thing you want to look for is the adjustment/jam nuts being outboard of the arm. There is nothing functionally wrong with the inboard mounted design but most of them are above the exhaust which makes it a PITA to access.

Anyone have experience with Garagistic rear lower control arms? I have good luck with the quality of other products from them.

I have the aluminum ones from ECS with bushings instead of spherical joints and they’re really nicely made. The alignment shop even commented how nice they are.

SPC made Eibach alloy - best street pair imo

BW are sealed ball joints using an OEM part. I swapped from the ECS ones, which were actually quite nice, to the BW ones to remove another rubber bushing from my suspension. So not sure why people are only mentioning GC as having sealed ball joints.
