Steering is 50% of why I can’t get on with… any modern sports car.

Yeah, BMW has lost most of its quirks over time as they cater to the SUV crowd. I think with the G platforms, the SUVs drive what goes into the sedans. And it is mostly soccer moms who want to be cool and would get a range rover if they could. It's the X3/4/5/6/7 that came out before the current 7...and the platforms aren't that different.

You can turn the burbles off, thankfully.

To be honest I love the interior the most. It's the newest car I've ever owned after having mostly 90's and early 2000s american shitboxes my entire life, and it feels like driving a spaceship (even crazier that the F80 interior design is going on 10 years old shortly).

Definitely agree with the first point. Having 550+ whp is fun for doing pulls and sliding around but definitely gets arduous in the canyons. The same turns I flat-foot in my E46 would send me off the cliff in the F80.

I've already told myself I am 100% buying the G81 when it comes to America. Just gotta hope enough folks buy the M5 wagon here.

Yeah, it'll probably share the same fate as the XM

I saw one with the same specs as yours, today, at our local euro c&c.

The internet doesn't do the car justice. The color was spot on, and the front end grows on you, in person. The interior ergonomics and technology is well done, feels very much like the evolution of what the M3 would be.

The shifter feel was the only “issue” I had, as it feels nearly identical to the stock 46 m3 shifter. I had hoped they improved it, as a civic type r still has better shifter feel than an M3, a decade+ later.

Congrats and enjoy in good health!

This looked worse than stock especially if you change the grill out for the CSL version.
