There is one going around on Facebook - I saw it in a group called E46 M3 Owners

Every time I start to get airbox-curious I circle back to it not being worth the hassle for me with CA smog being what it is, same with headers.

It certainly helps that I've never experienced one in the flesh, but when the time comes I'll be going Eventuri, and if I want to ratchet it up a notch there's the sound generator elbow that the guy in Germany makes. No WHP gains but at least I can be jealous while getting a taste of the howl.

The V2 is a fairly solid unit. The machining of metal fittings is better than all the other aftermarket airboxes and the filter fitment is excellent. The design is kinda meh, especially the tight clearance with the strut brace and the poorly thought out hinge for the unfiltered section, but for 1600ish, it is a good airbox.

I've been running a CSL MAP sensor, CSL rail, CSL software and a Bimmerworld CF box since 2013. Approximately 25k miles. Car has been run in SC summer heat and VA winter cold. Never had an issue.

I have probably $50 into my setup...this isn't a how-to but just a rough idea of what I did. All the information I used is here on nam3.

    IAT sensor:
    IAT temp sensor: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...or-13621739510
    clip: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ng-12521427615
    2 wires: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ct-61130005197
    Protective cover: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ol-12521732635

    MAP sensor:
I used a Bosch 0261230101 sensor (same scaling as the OEM CSL map sensor)

No idea why it's listed as a saab knock sensor, but it's a MAP sensor. I don't remember where I bought the plug, I think I found it on ebay but it was only a few bucks.

The MAP sensor gets wired into a PIN on the DME that currently has no pin, so you just add it in. I put a T into the brake booster hose for an air source for the MAP sensor, but you can get fancy and get the kressel or OEM BMW CSL style mount too - but whatever either works just fine. The IAT wiring is currently part of the stock MAF, so I used a deutsch connector so I can swap between the MAF and just IAT cleanly.

As for the code, I used Terra's modified CSL programming for a standard mss54hp ecu. You can get it here: https://github.com/saildot4k/MSS54-X...4HP%20to%20CSL

So on the programming side (for more details, dig around in the coding section here) but the short tl;dr; is

    1) Use MSSFlasher to backup your DME (programming AND tune)
    2) Flash the full TerraCSL programming to your DME
    3) Then READ the partial program so you can modify it

I used TunerPro to modified the cams profile (I don't have CSL cams)
I used ECUWORX to make the tune a manual (no smg) and anything else you want to do at the same time

    4) Flash the new modified partial tune back.

At this point, the car should start and run! I did my own tuning, and this was extremely helpful https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/s...or-drivability , but there are bunches of people/companies that can do the tuning side of things on a dyno and/or street driving. Whatever you're comfortable with.

All in all, it cost me about $50, car runs great, passes Oregon DEQ (smog), no check engine lights.

Do airbox, MAP and Bryson mullet tune. Closest thing to stock drivability wise.

I have both. As much as I was a proponent of the Karb MAF + Eventuri, the reality is that they sound different, the tone and volume are different. Is like hearing two singers sing the same song.

I heard the V1 had some quality issues. I have the TMS V2 and like others have said - I've had no issues so far *knocks on wood*. I think any issues you'd run into would likely be associated with whatever tune you go with moreso than fitment or quality. The shape is different, but I like it. My wife says it's looks like a tuba, but people are cars & coffees love it and always try to look inside. The sound is amazing (especially when I was running a gutted rear interior). Airbox + Euro headers/cats alone is good for around 330 whp with a tune from Hassan.

I have one on my car. No issues with it. Installed in a couple hours, the hardest part was getting the stock intake off. Looks great, sounds fantastic, fits well. Snorkels are cool I guess, but there's no strict need for it.

If you are really worried about 'hot air intake,' you can buy just the Eventuri insert that directs air up from the fog light area. That said, I live in hot-as-hell-houston and havent felt any loss in power from heat.

Hey JokerElite I have AA headers, AA section 1 with a SS resonated section 2 and SS Race section 3. The car has an HTE tune. I really wanted to go SS headers - back, but if I recall correctly I bought the majority of these parts during the pandemic and either the prices were outrageous or the wait time was insane. I also thought about going with euro headers, but I had the hardest time trying to find a set at the time. Oh well
