    Anyone running a ZCP/ZHP Steering Rack on an MK20?

    Purchased a blue tag steering rack before researching and finding out about the whole MK60/MK20 fiasco (saw a good deal) and unfortunately my car is MK20. Before I throw up the rack for sale, anyone successfully running a ZCP/ZHP rack on a MK20 or is an MK60 swap inevitable…also my car’s a weekend cruiser so I will not be hitting the track, so isn’t the stock rack a better fit for my case anyway?

    There is a bunch of talk about it here: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...rmation-thread

    tl;dr;

    The DSC unit uses the output of the steering column rotation sensor to calculate which direction the wheels are pointed. Changing to a quicker rack will cause the DSC unit to assume less steering angle than is actually applied, and will not match the lateral G measured by the yaw sensor, so the car may think something is wrong and cut power / apply brakes as it thinks necessary.
    and

    Lots of people use a ZHP/Purple/ZCP/CSL rack with a MK20 and for most driving it doesn't seem to interfere, and when it does, just turn DSC off...

    The fix is upgrading to a MK60 abs system: https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...mk20-mk60-swap

        I’ve been running one for ten years with no issues. DCT will kick in if you’re really pushing the car on back roads, otherwise it’s totally fine. It didn’t seem much different than the DCT interference with my MK60 ZCP. No issues on track either since I drive without traction control.

          Tell me about it.

          I have a blue tag in mine, but it's an 04 so it has the MK60. regardless, my DCT kicks in like crazy. I'm boosted so I'm sure that doesn't help, but it can get really annoying.

            Did you recode the MK60 for the new steering ratio?

              I ran a Z3 rack in an MK20 car. It made DSC completely useless, or I guess more useless than it already was. You could trip it by just making a u-turn with the Z3 rack.
