I don't understand what's going on in the front of my car, as my perches are set lower than what in this photo, but I'm at 14.5'' whereas you comment how low the car is without preload.

I double checked that the strut is fully seated down in the kingpin. I also disconnected one side swaybar endlink just in case. I have 4 or 5 threads showing above the top nut and torqued to the spec in the manual. The top hats are on the correct side with arrow pointed forward. I don't think anything with the strut bearing or hardware stack would affect ride height, just travel.

coming back to this......I initially had the strut down in the kingping just where it's recessed at the bottom. after fully seating the strut down to the hidden tab on the back my ride heights are pretty much all set now.

On the first test drive, ride quality is fantastic. I haven't put the car under any real load yet while trying to make sure everything is put together correctly. The one issue is some clicking coming from the front of the car, I'm guessing from the new SPL endlinks. I'll get the car back up and re-torque everything.

It doesn't happen over every bump, but it seems like if there's a big enough imperfection, or if I turn the wheel hard enough it'll click/clack. Sure seems like a swaybar issue to me, but If I put the car in the air and move the wheel lock to lock nothing is making noise or appears bound up. When the car was in the air I jacked one wheel up to ride height, installed the endlinks, then left the other side unattached until it was on the ground.
