Optimal Wheel Size

I'm toying with the idea of ordering a forged set of wheels, and I can pick the size and offset.

I'm currently thinking about going 19x9 +30 in the front, and 19x10 +25 in the rear.

Would run 255/35/19 and 285/30/19

Not a track car, I just take it on weekend cruises, cars and coffee, shows, and the occasional canyon run. Not looking to run over 2 degrees of camber, shave any fenders, or roll anything.

Thoughts?

I would recommend starting at the APEX wheels website, they have all sorts of different sizes/offsets with guidelines for whether it's a direct bolt-on or requires modifications.

18's would be optimal.

17's would be super optimal.

19's are for looks.

If you're adamant on staggered, 18X9 and 18X10 with whatever offsets work for your suspension setup/brakes is ideal.

I'd stay in the 30's.

I'm running a front 18x9.5 ET35 offset and rear 18x10 ET25.

Originally, I mounted these with Michelin PSS in 255/35 and 275/35. Fit was very easy, flush, looked great.

In 2021, I bought new Michelin PS4S in 255/40 and 285/35 due to the national backorder on a lot of tires. I needed them quick, unfortunately. The 285s required slight rear fender rolling.

Be sure you know what you're getting yourself into with 285s. When it's time to replace these, I'm going back to 275s in the rear.

My current setup is 19x10 +20 in the rear, on 285s and it fits with no rubbing or rolling, so I think the rear will be fine. The front is more what I'm concerned with. I was thinking a 9" wide wheel would work best, instead of 8.5 or 9.5

You don't need 19's to clear a 380mm

That's entirely dependent on your caliper and wheel.

Either way, 18s are out.

My RAC RG-4's are 19x9 +37 in the front. 245/35/19 fits great in the front. No rubbing and no rolled fenders (@ 13.5" ride height). I suspect 255 would be okay, but I have not tried it.

If you have the Dinan 380mm 6 piston monoblock setup up front, there are a few 18's that will clear them for sure but definitely a lot less options.

If it must be on 19's just get 19x9 and 19x10 with whatever offsets work.

A narrower wheel up front will help in turn in since you already have more weight up front with the brakes, blower, now 19's with 19 inch tires that also weigh more.
