Dumb question but the holes used to mount the bracket to the transmission are threaded on the transmission casing right? Also curious if it’s possible to install the transmission support bracket without removing the plastic transmission shield?

Yes, the holes are threaded in the casing and no, it is not possible to install without removing (or at least pulling away really hard) the transmission shield. It's a tight fit under there
