    CSL Snorkel Flap Seal

    Hello Members,

Was wondering if anyone has replaced the seal around the flap for the intake using aftermarket solution/seal. Mine has deteriorated and disappeared and now there is a gap at the top and bottom of the flap not sealing it up.

That would be amazing. I'd be willing to pay you for this of course. Although since the original has disintegrated i dont have one to send you to scan...

Hmm, that geometry will be tricky to print, at least on a printer with only one extruder (i.e. no easy to clean up support material). It's definitely doable, but I wonder if maybe printing a mold and casting it in polyurethane (or similar) would work better.

You guys have 100% more knowledge than I do in this matter, what you say also sounds like a good idea. If someone is running flapless can send in their flap with the seal intact would that help? I would but as I said mines disintegrated already.

Ideally we'd need just the seal to get the profile that interfaces with the flap correct. Alternatively, both a flap with the seal intact and a flap with no seal at all would also work.

I can always remove the flap on my own car and send it to you or mail it to you when im visiting the states.

Ideally if someone in CONUS has a flap they can send you, of course, that would be more ideal.

Scanning yours with the disintegrated seal would be very useful. I know of a couple people with flaps here, so should be fairly easy to get a scan of one with an intact seal.

Send me a pm and we can work out how to get yours over here.

Hey everyone I won't be able to remove the flap from my car's intake due to shortage of time before traveling to the states.

If someone can lend their flap that'll be great or I'll just send it over to heinzbohmer via DHL when I get back to Bahrain in a few weeks. Cheers

I just took my CSL air box off to get ready for sale. I have my snorkel removed and cleaned

My seal is completely intact. I don't really feel like shipping it at the possibility of it getting damaged and also possibly getting damage / missing on a return shipping

I do have a local friend that does 3D scanning for a race team. I talked to him and he has no problem scanning the whole snorkel. The back of the flap where the seal is the front of the flap inside where the seal is probably only enough room in the front to get to the top half of the seal but the top and the bottom half are the seal are the same I believe.

Here are the details of his scanning setup

I run a Peel3D Peel3 scanner. My fine scan detail level is just under .3mm.
It produces STL files natively, but i can file convert using Fusion 360 or Solidworks
Let me know if this is an option and will work and if we can do that I can go drop the snorkel off with him so he can do his thing and then get you the files and send them off to you

Thanks nextelbuddy! I actually swung by a friend's place the other day and picked up his flap to scan. Looks like the seal almost snaps on and off? If so, the scan would be super easy to get.

I'll get around to it this week since I should give it back soon.
