People in the Bay Area, do you get rust on your car?

I picked up a 2006 vert in September from the Bay Area, I had a 2004 for 12 years. The 2006 seems to have more rust on it than my 2004.

Nothing significant unless you park the car outside right next to the ocean or frequently drive it up to Tahoe in the winters

If Bay Area = San Francisco, then yes.
If Bay Area = San Jose, then no.

Was the car always in SF/CA? Shouldn't be any rust

If it's by the beach, it'll get rust.

I used to live down in San Diego about a block from the water, and those cars would get fucked up after a few years.

Initially it was in SoCal then Bay Area, Newport Beach -> San Jose -> Palo Alto -> Pleasanton.

Perhaps Newport Beach was the reason.

Yep, 2008-2012 was in Newport Beach, that could have been it. I mean rust is not terrible, but its more than what my other car had, and I've been in SoCal, on the valley side however.
