    OEM parts prices in Canada - Dropping????

    I noticed a significant drop in OEM parts pricing from BMW Canada yesterday. I have a Google sheet to track all the work I do and plan to do on my car, along with a list of parts and links to those parts.

    Examples: - I hope it is ok to add these links.Anyone have any insight into what is going on? Some of these prices are lower than those listed on many US-based sites.

    Buy first, ask later!

    Glad I waited now as some bits I need have dropped from $260 -> $175, and $220 -> $180.

          Interesting - just checked schmiedmann for a random selection of parts, a bunch of the parts I checked are 15-20% cheaper than they were 6 months ago

            I've noticed a few things cheaper as well. Don't recall what exactly as I have carts all over the place!😂

              Almost everything I regularly buy from BMW has been getting cheaper the last couple months. The cheap stuff like nuts, bolts, washers, o-rings are about the same if not slightly up. But I think the other stuff is just returning to how it was as soon as a year ago.

                Just checked my records--back in Nov 2024 I bought an OE blower resistor for $188 and now it's $148 from the dealer I use. Hmmm.... I need to re-evaluate my carts. I wonder if this is a final "send off" of parts, to close them out. Hmmm.

                  That's what I thought too - that this could be the final 'send off' so they can get rid of inventory that's not moving. Not sure what else it could be...

                    Took you guys a while to catch on, on exactly 01.01.2025 BMW Germany/Europe changed the prices on the entire catalog, normally this means raising all prices, but this year randomly they lowered the prices for many items, strange stuff, but nice for a change, instead of another price raise.

                      Yeah - definitely strange but we can't complain about this even if we paid more for something over the past couple of years.

                      I bought a 2024 VW GTI last year and just last week, VW finally announced the pricing for 2025 cars and guess what? Believe it or not, prices went down by ~ $1000 for all models (base GTI, AB, and golf R). This is unheard of in the current era.

                        Are you based in Europe?

                        I know there was a 2.5% rise at the end of January here in the UK.

                        Here are some UK prices for reference:

                        TPS are £96 each
                        The cowling at the bottom of the windscreen is an amazing £300 The actual glass is slightly less!
                        The exterior trim on the top of the with the rubber seal for the window is £285 as is the rear quarter window trim. So that's £1200 for 4 seals.
