    Engine sound

Guys, recently i've rebuided engine, done 1k miles running-in, currently have some sound at 2.5-3k like metal rattling, especially when RPMs goes on downside. Vanos was rebuilded with beisan parts, installed s62 diagrams. Only one point is not clear for me- my engine builder said that he could not change bearings in vanos gears. I've found same youtube video of my sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8Lx452U77g Rattling only in 2.5-3k rpms, on high- no sound. Need to change vanos gears?

Did you also have the upper chain guide tensioner arm replaced as well? (presuming you did it with the engine rebuild) if not though then I'd suspect that ahead of the bearings.

He couldn't change or they are not needed changing?
        Why couldn't?

But unless there is obvious axial plays in the bearing, no reason to change them.

I posted a thread with my new engine sounds just for this reason. See here:

We see videos all the time trying to diagnose noises. I am as guilty as anyone of these posts. The S54 is not a quiet engine. It's tough to know when it's broken. Having suffered a spun bearing a few months back, I bought a remanufactured engine from Rogue Engineering. Since I am in the break-in process, and the engine is new,

I don't hear anything wrong with that engine.

Is there any video with sound of gears? how it should be identified? I could write my engine noise but i don't think it sounds due to valve clearence cause it not increasing with RPM- only rattle in 2-3k RPM, seems like exhaust vanos gear.

Added 3 video. Sound is heared when RPM goes downside (from 2.5-3k to idle). When oil is warming up- sounds louder. When engine is on load- no sound. Noise hearing when holding rpms stable. Could it be vanos oil pump to hub clearence? Perfectly heard in parking lot (3rd video)
