Also to note - when we ship product outside of the US or between distribution centers globally, we have duty capture procedures at time of sale depending on the country in which we’re exporting so we sometimes do bill and charge DDP. We automatically send duty payments to customs on an rolling basis.

It will be customs. Customs just puts a hold on it and won't release the package. The shipping service will collect the tariff.

        This.

My CSL bootlid came from Schmiedmann in 2017 and DHL held delivery and collected the import duties. I don't remember now exactly how much it was, but it was pretty trivial.
        Old, not obsolete.

This only applies (applied?) to purchases over $800. I’ve never paid an import fee for anything that cost less than that. Idk if trump changed this.

Yes, historically there have been exemptions for package values under $800 (and this was reinforced with the Chinese tariffs in February). TBD what, if any, levels are enforced here but FedEx is now monitoring multiple packages under different way bills that fall within a certain window of time that are coming from the same vendor and delivering to the same addresses to catch people shipping items in multiple shipments to avoid the $800 threshold.

Trump initially removed the ‘De Minimis’ exemption for packages under $800, but the decision was reversed.

Are they slamming Mexico consistent with the earlier-announced plan?

ETA: Answering my own question: Yes. So the BMW M2 will get hit as well.

Apologies if I missed this detail when I read through the thread, but will these tariffs be applied to parts already in the US retroactively?

(Reuters) -Volkswagen will introduce an "import fee" on vehicles affected by the 25% tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

The German automaker has temporarily halted rail shipments of vehicles from Mexico and will hold at port cars arriving by ship from Europe, the report said, citing a memo to retailers.
Trump’s 25% auto tariffs will cover more than $460 billion worth of imports of vehicles and auto parts imports annually, according to a Reuters analysis of tariff codes included in a federal register notice.

No - parts that enter on or after April 3 are affected.
