Our cars tend to be very sensitive to even the smallest of voltage changes.

My alternator failed a few years back. Symptoms were both a red oil light and red battery light, my indicators would sometimes flash extremely quick, along with a few other things.

Replaced the alternator with a brand new OE unit and never had those issues again.

Having the same issue. Just replaced the intake with a GruppeM one. Also installed a new MAF. Alternator is only 4 months old from FCP Euro. Voltage is reading at both battery and posts is 12.47. Will pull codes. Any thoughts?

        It’s the alternator.

I’m guessing you didn’t get OE? This is one of those parts where the BMW stamp matters, a lot of the time.

This is the one that I got. Looks like FCP doesn't offer it anymore though. I see a number of ones available elsewhere - Valeo, Bosch, and Remanufactured BMW. Is the latter what you are referring to?
