    Poll: Sunbeam Sec 1 w/Cats

I reached out to Sunbeam after commenting on their upcoming exhaust. I've seen a few people ask whether they could make a catted version of their equal-length section 1. Sunbeam mentioned that they've observed a decrease in performance when running with cats, and they're unsure if there's enough interest to justify development.

They asked me to gauge interest—so I'm posting this poll to report back to them.

For reference, all of their testing and development is being done on a US-spec M3.

It would be quite expensive i'm sure. You can get HJS cats separately and weld to their non-resonated section 1.

The question that is unclear is what you'd achieve with this setup. The resonator has to be doing a lot of the legwork on their resonated section 1 in terms of sound.

They don’t, I was in talks with them.

I tend to agree. I built an equal length 2.25in section 1 a few weeks ago with Catco 400 cell cats. The sunbeam stuff appears to be 2.25in (57mm) as well. I think it sounds really good but it's very similar to a euro section 1. A CSL airbox is much much louder from the driver's seat.
