What a joke especially the post covid era world.
Production is there I guess. Quality of production is what I've had issues with..

Anyway, FCP lowered the price of the pump by about $65 and I used a 5% coupon to pick up another one for $670 shipped. Lets hope this one lasts a little longer.

$670 is just absurd.....Im sure someone in the community will come up with a solution

There is, the $120 Hella pump, what's wrong with it? Mine's 2 years old now and it's fine, Hella is a decent brand.

Replacement fuel pump to restore proper fuel system operation. Replaces BMW part #16142229684.

That is exactly the one i have sitting on the shelf for stock. No problems with that one at all. I wish VDO ones became available again.

I'm guessing the old pump + aftermarket hose are a compromise pairing and aren't making enough fuel pressure. So back to fuel pump shopping we go.. If anyone has any ideas/input, please do tell.
I have the Walbro radium conversion and I have a similar issue. Flip on the ignition, press start and won't turnover. Turn the ignition on and off, fires right up. It is kind of annoying but it is a track car so haven't really cared enough to fix it. I do have to climb through my roll cage to get to it which is never fun especially in the summer.

I've assumed the Walbro I bought doesn't have an internal check valve. Interested to see if the hose is an issue?

For me, it was either $120 for Hella or $170 for OEM and $500+ in FCP store credit. I opted for the latter. The feedback I found on the Hella was mixed; some good for at least a couple years like yours, others failing very quickly.

FCP's new policy (store credit instead of refund) is certainly worse, but, really.... I'm going to use it, sooner or later, so it doesn't really matter.

FCP reduces my non fuel/tire running costs by probably 75%. Hard to complain. My only real regret is that I didn't start using them earlier. They cover my track rotors, track pads, street rotors, street pads, SRF, oil, rod bearings, cooling system, bla bla bla-- every time I just need to cover the parts inflation since last time I did it.
