I didn’t care for carbon trumpets but when i pulled the trigger, that was the only option. Can anyone share a comparison between the two or describe the difference based on own experience?

I doubt that you find objective data on any of these sound claims.

Could be they also change the number of plies, I would say it is likely something in the construction has been revised over time than the trumpet material.

Could you elaborate on this please? I.e. how does the sound differ to the original Karbonius airbox?

I took a short flyby video when I had the old Karb box installed. I'll post it when I get a chance.

the newer ones (maybe since 2-3 years ago) are fully made of CF. The older ones had inside trumpets made of plastic and sound was different.

I’m aware of the differences in the trumpets, the question was more in relation to how this made a difference to the sound (i.e. pitch, volume etc.).

DJAM3 your video would be helpful. Although I suspect the easiest way to tell the difference would be to hear them side by side.

It's supposedly a more perfect replication of OE CSL sound. I would use the word "metered" to describe it. Cleaner, sharper, more defined. But this is slight.

I would argue that non OE box could produce a more desirable sound if you're not dead set on it sounding exactly like a real CSL. Perhaps a louder or more raucious sound would be enjoyable. To tell the truth, the aspect we like most about the csl airbox is the loud roar. Not so much that the roar has a super crisp or clear sound, but moreso the volume and "strength" of the sound. Some are CSL nerds and only care about 1:1 reproduction. My 2 cents anyway.

Yup, the roar is hard to describe via text, but the volume of it and the depth is other-worldly.

As if my winter list wasn't already long enough, I've been waiting/watching for airbox deals this month. Decided to skip the unknown of ship dates & tariffs and grabbed the TMS airbox this morning, dropped to $1885 for the entire kit. It has gone from 25-30% off and now 35% off this morning. Hopefully I timed it right. Enough positive feedback on the latest iteration I figured it was worth a shot at that price.
