This is how I bought my salvage e46 over a decade ago. Then rebuilt it a second time after even worse damage to the driver side apron. Do I have any regrets? No, especially as a then-teenager who couldn't otherwise afford a clean example of a car like this. Have I had any issues with structural integrity or insurance or registration? No, just very slight imperfection with the hood/fender gaps that doesn't bother me enough to correct it. But would I do it again? No. I'd sell/keep for parts and buy myself an un-compromised car.
