    Custon header heatshielding?

    Hey Everyone,

Is there anyone the does customer header heatshielding? Ive attached a Pic for reference. I know header wraps come with some risks, but these seem to be the best of both worlds. Im already thermal coated, but want to bring this topic up.

    Thanks!

Might not be aesthetically what you're going for, but in absence of a custom solution (I don't have an answer for you there), there are several solutions made by these guys:

heat shield, exhaust wrap, sound dampening, heat wrap, insulation, rv insulation, heat barrier, insulating wrap, heat sleeve, exhaust insulation, sound barrier, heat protection, exhaust protection, sound protection, heat tape, rv restoration, turbo cover, header blanket, turbo insulation, wire insulation, wire protection, heat sleeving, high heat protection, basalt, lava rock

    They have stuff like this:

Heat Management   A few facts to consider when modifying internal combustion engines are: Horsepower & Torque at their most fundamental origins are measurements of heat and pressure. As power levels increase, so does it's inherent by-product; heat.  As intensity and frequency of exposure to exhaust system component

No experience with them but it looks like they do custom heat shields.

I talked to HeaderShield at PRI and I really dig it. BUT it is very expensive and the concept seems "relatively" simple, but labor intensive. It does add some girth which might be a problem for my setup but otherwise it could be something to consider DIY'ing.

Are you going to wrap your coated headers? Kind of like...double bagging it? lol

I have swaintech coated megan headers. They did help to reduce coolant temps and general hotness under the hood by quite a bit. Not sure how much cooler it can get.

            Double bagging for sure, 😆 🤣 😂.

I was thinking more to keep the temps in more, to flow out quicker (maybe a little hp gain). Figure with the Swainteck, custom heatshielding, and the heatshield plates on the car, that should get me maximum on both under hood and exiting exhaust gasses.

Redstar exhausts has some of the best heat shielding available and they are a small US based company, if you're willing to pay they might be worth reaching out to.

Our proprietary thermal heat shielding features a 5-8mm ceramic wool layer wrapped in precision-formed stainless steel foil, installed using 3D-printed molds for a perfect fit. This setup cuts temperatures by over 50%, outperforming typical wraps or coatings others use. Heat shielding without a ceramic wool air gap is ineffective, which is common with cheaper products.

We highly recommend adding heat shielding, especially for downpipes that connect directly to the turbo or pass through the transmission tunnel. It helps keep turbo and intake air temperatures down, reduces heat soak, and prevents timing retards, improving performance and reliability.

Additionally, it smooths the exhaust note and reduces cabin vibrations (NVH), making your driving experience more refined.

I thought they were based in Russia. I was looking at them for f85 HFC down pipes
