Honestly if there was a better solution using a stock DME I would be about it. In fact if I swap to Maxx and the MSS54 gets figured out I might switch back (I do still have my CANTCU on a shelf). But my car is now 25yrs old and emissions testing isn't something that applies which is making the decision something to even consider.

Ultimately I plan to end up with an S65/DCT combo, but for now I have the Maxx (since 2024) and its not doing anything so I figured I'd give it a shot. IF it works and is a better than what I have now this setup will go in my Mustang when the S65 goes in the touring.

My car is also on a MaxxECU. It's a great ecu, especially on our cars.

Anyone have a running DCT-swapped E46 M3 with CanTCU controller?

Seems like all the ZF8 swaps are doing well with CanTCU. But I haven't seen anything for MSS54 yet, just the MS43 cars on non-M.

The MSS70 has all the necessary features for an E-DCT conversion; it requires some code patches, and I’m working on it. I might soon have a solution available, similar to the one I created for the MSS65.

There are cars with that setup, but they are not at all sorted out. Need to spend some time with karter16 and convince him to help on this project lol

I’ve delved further into the MSS65. At the system level, it supports 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4-cylinder configurations. At first glance, the 10, 8, 6, and 4-cylinder setups appear drivable with only minor code changes. Theoretically, one could run the MSS65 on the S54 engine, utilizing all its features—such as ionic knock control, and so on. The VANOS control, however, would require further investigation.
