    Roof Swap Complete

    Hey Guys:

Just sharing the good news. The RKP roof install went off without a hitch. Euro slicktop (no bump) installed with oe insulation. Recovered the parcel shelf while the car was apart. Pictures below.

If you’re in the LA area, I cannot recommend ABS enough. This is the only time I’ve done this job, but I don’t think anyone else could beat their efficiency, know how or communication.

Also of note, ABS used my original rails (after painting them black). That means I have oe CSL rails that I’ll be selling soon.

Happy to answer questions, or offer confidence-building support, if anyone is on the fence.

    Looks great!

How do these carbon roofs hold up after years of sunlight exposure? Are you going to leave it raw or paint it?

The RKP comes clear coated, so it should hold up. I had mine PPFed as well.

Very nice, do you need to use non CSL roof rails, or compatible with either?

Wait how did you not need to use the CSL roof rails? And where did you source a Slicktop headliner???

Very nice, looks wonderful! I wish I would have pursued this 3+ years ago when things were easier to get, I have kind of given up on that.

Now I'll just have to be satisfied my M6 has a carbon roof, with gelcoat that's comming off...

Need more, better pics! Looks great though congrats.

                    -Notice any difference in driveability?
-Did they reuse the front and rear windhsield? How about the seals?

Both the RKP and Karb are compatible with either rail. That’s big because I think the CSL rails are NLA or will soon be.

As for the euro headliner … I scored one for €120 shipped last year. Still don’t know how they made anything after shipping.

Haha, we are stuck with what the shop has sent me for a while. I do have one additional to share.

Front and rear windshields were saved, retained and reused. New genuine seals were installed.

So all we get are 3 pics with no interior pics? Are you kidding me?

                          I want to see more!

What was the rough installation cost? If you can share, I've got a headliner I need to put to use and a good reason to get an M3 out to CA
