Might have found the best aftermarket cup holders

I recently jumped into the rabbit hole of aftermarket cup holders due to my incoming CSL interior conversion from Karbonious.

Envisioning the pain living without cup holders and needing to find a solution. I made a post on social media looking for solutions. I found options ranging from pop out center air vent cup holders, door mount cup holders, and floor mount cup holders.

Through engagement I found a general consensus that a floor mounted cup holder was the most well received. However from the 2 companies mentioned in my comments (Patina Cup Holders & Ultimate Cup Holders) both were out of business. I did find a replica on eBay however that was $100 per cup holder.

What I ended up finding as the best solution was this company called Rinashi Solutions. They make a floor mounted cup holder that has a nice black metal finish and looks to be adjustable on the angle position. Fun fact, they actually designed this cup holder specifically for the E36 & E46 chassis, but it’s a universal cup holder. The great part about this installation is that it bolts right into your inner seat rail. And at a price of $67/cup holder it’s the perfect balance on price, quality, & utility (there’s even a silicone cup to store other things).

I’ll be following up with an unboxing, install, and testing out a variety of cups and bottles to see how well it holds up.

I solve this problem by banning all food and drink from the interior of my car haha. Seriously though - they look nice - keen to see photos when you have them installed!

I usually would too haha, however with a girlfriend and child I’m out numbered on preferences!

Bold of you to assume that LA streets + coilovers would make this work well.

It’s not like the factory ones are doing much better. But we’ll see, I’ll do an in depth test with rough road conditions and see how much spillage I get.

This style cupholder is popular in the air cooled scene. May limit how far forward you can slide the seat though, something to consider with buckets.
I saw a 3d printed cupholder insert for the CSL console somewhere not long ago..

I’m interested to see what limitations it might have, I’m 5’10” so I’ll be seated somewhere in the middle. The 3-D printed CSL cup holder is limited to cup holder and I’d prefer to have 1 per side.

I had that cupholder in my e28, made the movement of the passenger seat limited, especially painful when carrying tires to the tire shop. It wasn’t as sturdy as I would’ve liked. My wife also complained, about it interfering. It also didn’t like a large variation in cup sizes.

Removed it in preference of shoving closed bottles between seat and ebrake console, but E28s come with no cupholders so better it was than nothing for most people.

I find the factory cupholders in these to be okay, for temporary transportation of a beverage or two to a destination.

With the CSL console I do see the predicament but you can always opt for the standard non armrest console. Unless you really need that carbon fibre

I have bucket seats and the no armrest center console. I still opt for the shoving between the seat and console with a closed bottle over everything, than use factory cupholders.

If it’s a open beverage it’s either hot or cold and typically should be enjoyed in the temperature state handed to you somewhat quickly anyways.

Thought like this looked like a good option that could easily be removed when not in use.

I’ve gone armrest delete with euro tray slider, CSL center console, and then reverted back to armrest delete with cup holders. Tried patina cup holders, took them out. Hopefully you have better enjoyment than I experienced!

Exactly the same here LOL. Factory cup holders are the best
