Hahah I am just messing with him, and keeping the joke going. Just having lighthearted fun. I think we're on the same page.

I could see that being an issue with new(er) BMWs that run pumps and fans with the car off, but an E46 should only be pulling 0.040A when off (after 16 min) and it should be sub 0.200A within a couple minutes or less.

I would think a vehicle driven on "short trips" or high loads with the car off would be an issue vs frequency of use?

      You're not wrong.

Technically, if you aren't leaving the battery for long periods of time, you have low parasitic draw when the car is off, and your CCA need is low, the ATX-30 will probably work for you... although I will repeat, it is not recommended by Antigravity. And in fact they warned me against using the ATX-30 in automotive applications. They said "Yeah people do it, but we don't recommend it". I think for that exact reason... people were letting them sit and pretty much using the jumpstart feature to fire em up every time.

The replacement acid battery in my Tacoma officially kicked the bucket today. Lasted less than 3 years, gets driven at least 3-4 days a week. Factory battery lasted 10 years.

Anyways thought I'd pass this along for those in the market for a not light battery. Grabbed a NAPA AGM as a replacement. 10% + 20% off online sales, $20 rebate and it will be $167. Not bad.

Just picked up the AGM battery from Costco. $180 after core return.

Isn't that what I said? Yes it will probably work if you don't let it sit for too long, but it's not recommended?

I don't think I agree with that. I'm on year 11 with my 5.5 lb braile GU1R. Cost me ~$500 IIRC, saved around 40 lbs, if anything has been better than a normal.full weight battery, because
                        1) when I do something dumb to discharge it, it cuts itself off before getting damagingly low
                        2) So far it has lasted twice as long as a normal/full weight battery. Factoring that in, not even sure it's more expensive?
                        3) 40 lbs of weight saving

Can't think of any reason I wouldn't do the same next time I need a battery.

Just a thought, with today's technology and Li Ion batteries being so widespread you would think that these things would be cheaper especially the correct sized li ion batteries for our cars.

Personally for me I'm shocked at the Porsche lithium battery debacle that's on going in today's market. Just the other day I had to take care of a friends Porsche Cayenne 2022 converting it to an AGM battery setup as the factory lithium battery was not available. Lucky for him even after I ordered the conversion kit I was able to revive the factory lithium battery with my Noco charger.

I would love to get an AntiGravity battery one day just for the weight savings if it ever comes down to a reasonable price, but not holding my breath. AGM batteries it is for now.

For us regular peasants, I'm a fan of the Duracells if you have a batteriesplus store near you. You can stack some coupons and get it to a good price: https://www.batteriesplus.com/produc...-gas/sli94rh7m
