It’s just how it goes with MK20 cars. I have the same soft pedal feel with front megane rs calipers and rear 996. I’m using DS2500 pads, bled numerous times and even swapped the master cylinder. A friend with MK20 and exact same setup has the same brake feel.

Some of this has to do with the soft bite of the DS2500 when cold, since bite improves a lot once on track.

Inherently theres nothing “wrong” with the brakes, it’s simply a more linear “feel”. It’s actually helped me get a better feel for heel/toe on track.

A proper brembo GT or APracing kit is probably how I’d do it again if I don’t leave it stock.

That's my exact setup on my car. Not FCP free, but feels great so who cares.

Sliders tend to feel much more on/off vs Stoptechs...not sure about 996 calipers. Most equate that to a stiff pedal. I'm sure I get a little softer pedal with the stoptechs vs OE but the brakes are much easier to control and modulate. The feel is linear which, again, some think is a soft pedal.

You want the DTC70 pads for the front. And cold track pads will feel bad. I'd argue the PF08s will feel even worse than the DTC60s when cold. Pagid yellows and PF01s had zero bite before they warmed up a little.
