One of his vids popped up recently about wheel detailing. He was explaining the benefits of the different kind of pliers/nippers he used to cut the tire nibs off the side of his brand news tires. I literally had this moment of, "why the F am I wasting my life watching this bulldonkey?" Blocked his channel.

    And as for this:

    Could not agree more.
Ballsach Edition is hilarious and spot on. And yeah the channel is a total waste of time.

So essentially this dude is able to double the value of a car with just a little time, energy and a few new parts. It's brilliant. Taking the EAG business model to the next level...

Going to the garage to remove the nibs from my tires now. Hoping that yields a 15% increase in market value.

I can tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to watch it. Cuz any new content that comes out on a car I love will have my attention.
I used to watch more of Matt’s stuff years ago. Been following his stuff for more than 10 years back before he had a business. I’ve even had a chance to meet him at SEMA a couple times. He’s a nice guy. I’m not “obsessed” so I can’t get into the vast majority of what he does. But I like seeing cool cars and his builds/giveaways.

Car videos on youtube...99.9999% suck. I only watch M539 restorations and Judd V10 hill climb videos. Oh and my track videos when I need to go to sleep.

I watched a bit of it, more palatable than I remember…Maybe it was some reflection yesterday and I reminded myself I am also obsessive about stupid shit. Like sourcing handmade knives and I'm no chef, so do I really need spend 3-500 because I like the way they feel in the hand?
He gets a pass from me on the tire nips, because who knows, it may be really enjoyable snipping those things off.

It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there for all the world to criticize. Especially on YouTube where you can't hide behind a forum avatar & username. I had to remind myself of that this past weekend...

I used to roll with my actual first last name on forums, then it started showing up in Google searches and I changed my approach, mainly for professional reasons (i.e., career). So like I said, still no tire nibs nipping for me, but he can do him.

I'm a fan of Matt, although he can be cringy at times.

                  IDK.

He's not wrong... do any of us leave these cars stock? They're not great in stock form. Yeah, he talked shit about his old white car, cause it was a stock E46... they're not very exciting.

I could type up a thesis about forums and youtube personalities and whatnot, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. Our opinion is irrelevant, Matt makes plenty of money off his multiple businesses, and will continue to buy and modify cars for the foreseeable future.

It's funny you mention this as I'm currently driving a completely stock car and prior to this it had been a long time since I had done so. I'm quite enjoying the experience. So much so that I've reconsidered a bunch of plans that I had. I'm going to install the CSL airbox, associated accessories, euro headers, and Bryson's mullet tune plus a 3.91 diff and call it day. I'm not even going to change the suspension at this time. I like it. However, I get what you're saying, the airbox is probably a mandatory modification for these cars since we didn't get the CSL.

It's still a great car in stock form as far as I am concerned. I reversed most of the mods I've done over the years. It was good enough for C&D to put it over the Z06/Boxster and have all the car mags rave about it too.

Speed and acceleration has become largely irrelevant.

His videos are basically 45 min of inner monologue, but at least he picks good cars. To your point, people on forums can be way worse with the nonsense they think/post that makes me hate them far more - we just don't put a face to a (user)name.
Besides it's not like there is much quality content on E46's these days so I'll still watch lol.

And as someone who has owned *six* E46 M3'sin various configurations, they are disappointing in stock form. I've said for years if I could not mod one I definitely would not own one. But therein lies the paradox, because it's so much better after thoughtful upgrades that it surpasses many other cars it shouldn't. In fact it's the worst M3 out of the box IMO; literally every other generation M3 needs less to meet its potential and I will die on that hill.

What a joke. Stock m3s (all of them!) are amazing for the $. Wanting them to be even better doesn't negate that. I think most of us, by nature, are tinkerers anyway. Doesn't matter what car we have, we want to MOD.
