I cleaned out valve block as I had a spare one and no fitted this and no changes. Didn’t have new seals though. I’ve got a new accumulator and oil line on the way to see if that helpsOriginally posted by Slideways View Post
Next thing to try is cleaning out the valve block above the pack using Beisan's method.

Did the VANOS test stop on the intake side or did it also test the exhaust side?Originally posted by M3kob View Post

I'm not sure how you are not getting fault codes for this.

New Accumulator won't help in this case.Originally posted by M3kob View Post
The absolute value for max retarded IN is 130*, and max advanced is 70* , and so the displayed 60* is a relative value for max retard, and 0 for max advance.
You can try to manually turn the cam to max advance and see how the displayed value changes. You can unplug the vanos solenoid to see if the codes pop up.

I did think about exhaust hub, thinking about rebuilding vanos as it’s never been done and car is 23 yrs old now. If exhaust tab is broken, I’ll have to replace this as wellOriginally posted by BL92 View PostYou may have a broken tab on the exhaust hub
If not
Try changing your oil, reset adaptions via inpa and go for a drive around the block and retest
