I still don't understand how they don't fit - 10"et25 is a very common size - don't tons of people run that? I just fit a 9.5et22 e88 wheel on my car with big 996 calipers and there was TONS of room like 1/2" or 12mm betwen caliper and wheel spokes.
So here's a massive BBK and his set up is an effective offset of 29 and clears, so how is 25 not clearing? I understand spoke/wheel design matters, but my E88s with et22 would be similar to OP's e88s no?
When I get my M359s for my E90, I'll take a rear wheel (10"et25) and fit it on my E46 front axle to see the clearance - now I'm curious as hell.
